Our transitional education day service is designed for young adults who are not quite ready to take the step into post-school education, work, or a new home. Our person-centred programme works with the needs and aspirations of our students to help them thrive.
What do we provide?
We deliver personalised education and therapeutic support for students and their families, helping them build new skills and strategies. Our provision includes one in‑house Speech and Language Therapist, education supervisors, and tutors, who collaborate with our experienced project workers to design individual learning plans for each student. We provide support in our centres and in the local community, enabling learning and development in a range of real‑world contexts.
We believe in the importance of lifelong learning being accessible, no matter the challenges an individual may experience. We offer a unique educational service for young people with learning disabilities, communication needs, autism, and behaviours that challenge services.
Our Centres
We offer a full‑time programme of 35 hours per week, delivered Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 4:30pm and Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Our Liberton Brae and Ravenscroft centres run for 45 weeks per year, while our centres in Musselburgh (East Lothian) and at McDonald Road operate for 50 weeks per year.
Our Goals
Our goal is to ensure that students have ownership of their learning, experience improved communication and social skills, and have increased access to opportunities. Our transitional programme is designed to help our student and their family to prepare to move on to a future positive destination. We are with you on your journey for as long as you need, which means that students can be with us for as long as they need.
