The past three months at Capella have flown by, filled with activities, energy, and plenty of exciting moments. From fundraising events to new Next Steps Hub openings, there has been much to celebrate.
Here is a look back at some of the highlights!
The Edinburgh Kiltwalk
We had an incredible day at the Kiltwalk on the 14th of September, with almost 50 of us taking part to raise funds for Sleep Action and Teens+. Our team was out in force, covering every distance, and every single walker was a superstar!
It really was a day filled with laughter, energy, and community spirit. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we have raised an outstanding £7,397.42 plus an additional £1,570.25 in Gift Aid. We are truly blown away by this generosity.
A huge thank you goes to all our walkers, every supporter who donated, and everyone who cheered us on along the way. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Capella’s Footgolf Tournament
On the 30th of August, we hosted our very first Charity Footgolf Tournament at Bridgend Golf and Footgolf Club. Ten teams competed for the top spot, with plenty of drama along the way, from birdies to hole-in-ones, and even a nail-biting playoff.
Anna, her team, all the caddies were fabulous, ensuring the entire event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Thanks to everyone’s amazing support, we raised an incredible £2,300 for Sleep Action and Teens+. We had a great day and cannot wait to make this an annual event!
4th Annual Quiz Night

We kicked off September with our annual Teens+ Quiz Night at Gilmerton Bowling Club. The competition was fierce, with the event also ending in a nail-biting tiebreaker to decide the winners (this is becoming a common theme)!
The winning team, Not Got a Clue, were eventually crowned the winners.
A huge thank you to everyone who organised the event, came along to take part, as well as those who donated raffle prizes. Together, we raised an amazing £450 in support of Teens+.
Next Steps Hub at the Fisherrow Centre
September marked a huge milestone for us as we officially opened our very first Next Steps Hub at the Fisherrow Centre in Musselburgh. The hub provides a welcoming, safe, and supportive space for our Trainees to develop life skills, build confidence, and take steps towards greater independence.
We are very proud to see this project come to life and cannot wait to share updates on the journeys our Trainees begin to take.
STV visit to Gorgie Community Farm
Exciting things are happening at Gorgie Community Farm, where we are preparing to open our second Next Steps Hub. This new space will give even more Trainees the chance to learn, grow and thrive in a unique environment.
We were delighted to welcome STV recently, who came along to meet our staff and volunteers and hear more about the work going on behind the scenes. Their visit showcased the positive impact the Hub will have, not just for our Trainees, but for the wider community too.
We are working hard to get everything ready for opening and cannot wait to share more news with you very soon.
Finalists at the 2025 Self-Management Awards

We were so happy to be named finalists at the 2025 Self-Management Awards. Although we didn’t take home the win, it was an incredible honour to be recognised amongst so many inspiring organisations. Reaching the final stage is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, trainees and supporters.
Pantomime Fundraising Event
A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make it possible for our students who take part in Drama Group to attend the Panto this Christmas!
Experiences like this mean a great deal to our young people, and we couldn’t have done it without you. From those who took part in the 10K run back in August to everyone who kindly donated towards our target, your generosity has made a real difference.
